What accent colour should I use in my living room?


I'm going for a contemporary look. I have light gray-green walls, a black sofa and red-brown wood furniture (fireplace, coffee tables). My floors are natural hardwood but look kind of yellow. What colour would look good for curtains and cushions? Are blinds out of style?

I think you should get curtains and blinds, but probably wooden or vertical, with larger, well, blinds, because those will be easiest to clean.

Accent color... gray-green, black, reddish-brown, yellowish floors... I think a creamy off-white would be quite sleek and still soft, and it'd fit in with everything and set it off quite nicely.

If you have a picture handy, I think it'd help us get a better idea.
